Car break-ins

by Tedda

Several residents have told us that their cars were broken into this weekend.  There was no damage to the cars, and nothing was taken.  Just another reminder to not keep any valuables in your vehicle, and to keep your eyes open for suspicious activity.

Fence work

by Tedda

Fence work continues on the back side of building two.  Please note that we are asking residents not to place anything on top of the new fences.  This is a change in policy, due to the expense of the new fences.  Thanks for your cooperation!

Neighborhood Safety Meeting

by Tedda

ALL RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

October 6th, 6:30 pm, poolside

We have experienced some break-ins recently at Chastain Walk, and we want everyone to play a role in keeping us all safe.  At this meeting we will:

1)      Tell you about the immediate measures we have taken to increase safety.

2)      Have a presentation from the Atlanta Police Department on Neighborhood Watch.

3)      Demonstrate recommended door “sleeves” – you will be able to sign up for installation after the meeting.

4)      Discuss installing security systems.  Vendors will be here to answer your questions.

5)      Finally, a quick note about properly insuring your property in case of a loss, and what to do if you have a break-in.

We would like all residents to do two things to help stay informed.  One, please sign up for Zone 2 alerts at atlantapd.org.  Two, please provide Working Solutions with an email address, so that we can share timely information with you.  We will not sell, rent, or trade the address you give us.

Several residents have told us they feel safer with the new windows installed.  If you are interested in the new windows, we have extended the deadline for the Fall installation until October 21.  Please call Working Solutions to set up your no-obligation measuring appointment.

Attached is information on the “If You See Something, Say Something” program.  Our active participation in the community really is our best defense.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday!

Break-ins at Chastain Walk

by Tedda

Please take extra precautions to lock your homes & cars, as we have had a few break-ins recently.  No one has been harmed, but items have been taken.  Please look out for yourself & your neighbors!  If you see anything suspicious, do not hesitate to call the police.

Fence work to begin Tuesday

by Tedda

We are finally saying goodbye to our sagging, peeling, sad old fences.  The new fences will be made of a composite wood product that will not warp or need to be painted.

Work will begin Tuesday morning, 8/30, on the fences, starting with building 1.  Demolition work will begin shortly after 8:00 am.  Please remove everything attached to your fence.  Anything not removed will be demoed along with the fence.

Monday morning, 8/29, Taylor Construction will be roping off the parking between building 1 & 2 on the South drive.  This is where the dumpster & materials will be staged for the work on buildings 1 & 2.

Building 2 should be prepared for demolition work later in the week.  Please be proactive and remove anything attached to your fence.  It is very likely that the demolition crew will work ahead of the construction crew, so you may be without your fence for more than a day during the project.

Buildings 3 & 4, please check back for updates on when you should be ready, as we are not sure yet how long the work will take on buildings 1 & 2.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
