Chastain Walk COI

WHEN:  Sunday, October 29th 7:00 pm

WHO:  Any interested resident of Chastain Walk Condo, individuals welcomed, group decorating is encouraged

HOW:  Decoration need to not obstruct foot or vehicle traffic, should not be permanently attached or drilled into any buildings or structure, may not intrude on anyone else’s home without their permission.  Larger decorations must be down by the following weekend (Nov. 4th and 5th).  Wreaths and smaller decorations may stay up longer.

WHAT’S in it for you:  A gift card to a local business and bragging rights for an entire year!!

**Volunteers are needed to serve as judges.  If interested send an email to cwboard@chastainwalk.com.

We will be having an informal community meeting this month to discuss any topic(s) you would like related to life at Chastain Walk.

All of the Board Members will be there and we can do a large roundtable or break into groups to go into detail on specific topics.  For example, landscaping, parking, pets, general management, etc.

Frank, our property manager, will not be there.

The Lenox Center building is directly across fro Lenox Square on Lenox Rd. next to Firestone and two doors down from Houston’s Restaurant.  Enter parking from Lenox Rd. (not Wright Ave.).  We will provide a validation ticket for free exit.  If coming by MARTA, we are a half block north of the Lenox Station on Lenox Rd.

• Chastain Walk Condo Pool Closes – Monday, October 16th

• Informal Community Meeting – Tuesday, October 24th 6:30 to 7:30 pm

• Halloween Decorating Contest – 7 to 8 pm

The Community Yard Sale is set for next Saturday, June 10th from 8 am to 2 pm – Rain or Shine.

This means that there will be no parking along the back of the property beginning at 9pm Friday, June 9th.

The Community Yard Sale that was scheduled for Saturday, May 13th has been postponed due to weather.

We have rescheduled the Sale for Saturday, June 3rd from 8 am to 2 pm.

Hopefully this will allow for more participants and better weather.

COMMUNITY YARD SALE

 On Saturday, May 13^th from 10am to 4pm, Chastain Walk Condominiums will host a Community Yard Sale.

 We will use the back of the property for set-up and shopper parking.  Accordingly, we need all cars removed from the rear parking lot NO LATER THAN 9PM on FRIDAY, MAY 12TH.

 There will be a Homeowners’ Association Board table selling any items that we found during our clean out of the storage units on Saturday, March 25^th.  Any items left abandoned or otherwise not contained within your storage unit or for which you do not have prior approval to keep elsewhere, will become property of the board if not removed or contained by March 25th. 

 The Board table will also sell any items you don’t want but are not interested in selling yourself.

 The Board will provide the advertising, signage and location for the sale.  If you are interested in participating with your own items, please contact Eli Zandman at eli.zandman@gmail.com.

 Prior to the sale, we will offer tips and tricks on how to have a successful and profitable yard sale.  Essentially anything that has at least some value can sell. (think vintage coke bottles you were going to throw out, an old bike you no longer use, gifts you never opened, old electronics collecting dust, really almost anything)

 Please let us know by Saturday, April 29^th, if you want to participate or volunteer.  We would like to have firm commitments from at least ten homeowners/renters.  The more participants, the more fun and successful the sale should be. The sale will take time and effort, but does present a great opportunity to liquidate unwanted items. The sale will also be a great time to get to know your neighbors and see what treasures your neighbors are getting. That said. Please only commit to participating if you are confident you will be able to do so. 

 All money raised by the Board’s table will be used for a Chastain Walk community gathering.

On Saturday, March 25^th at 9am, we will start working on the common areas in Buildings 2 and 3’s basements.

On Saturday, April 1^st at 9am, we will start working on the common areas of Buildings 1 and 4’s basements.

Any items that we deem “valuable” will be sold in the Community Yard Sale to be held on Saturday, May 13^th from 8am to 3 pm. (More details to come later.)

Volunteers are needed and greatly appreciated to help with this project.

Please make sure that any items you have in the common areas have been removed prior to March 25^th or it will become the property of the Board.

We know lots more of you want to join in the fun next year, but why wait? Announcing the Chastain Walk Winter Holiday decorating contest! Get creative, team up with neighbors & show us some holiday cheer! Decorations can go up the weekend after Thanksgiving. No drilling or permanent attachment and please don’t block sidewalks. Judging will be December 16th, and large decorations can stay up until the first weekend in January.
