Boiler in building 4 to be replaced

by Rob on August 27th, 2015

UPDATE: (Fri 8:35 PM): I have heard from two people in building 4. One reports warm water that used to be much hotter; the other reports hot water. The plumber will be out tomorrow morning between 9 and 10 to investigate.

UPDATE (Fri 7:42 PM): The boiler installation was completed mid afternoon. The plumber is aware of the damage they caused to the wall and will be back out to repair this.

UPDATE (Fri 11:39 AM): The water was turned off by mistake and should be back on now.

UPDATE (Fri 11:29 AM): Just got word that the water is off in building 3 and, likely, building 4. We didn’t expect this. Sorry for the surprise. I’ll post further updates as I get them.

UPDATE (Thu 8:40 PM): The boiler in building 4 will be replaced tomorrow. You will have hot water during the early hours but not later in the morning. The shut-off time is 10 AM. Cold water should be available throughout the process.

ORIGINAL POST:

A leak was reported in the basement of building 4 and our plumber determined that the boiler is leaking and must be replaced. Second one this year–yikes! The repair is likely to be scheduled for tomorrow and we don’t think the water will be turned off. Check back here for updates.
